Home Information Packs (HIPs) are no longer required when selling your home.  This is great news!!  The idea behind HIPs was to make the process of purchasing a house run smoother and quicker.  Unfortunately, this was not the case.  The requirement to include searches in the HIPs meant that vendors and purchasers were having to buy the same search because they are only valid for 3 months.

Now that HIPs are no longer a necessity we hope that the housing market can begin to recover.

However, the new Government has not removed the requirement for an EPC when selling your house.  An EPC will continue to be required for all sales: whether it is a private sale or via an estate agent.
